On October 15, 2013, Tran reportedly backed out of the show at her (then) boyfriend Chris Brown's insistence, after hearing that producers were in talks with Brown's ex Jasmine Sanders to join the cast, tweeting "Definitely not going to be on Love & Hip Hop LA lol". Ray J was also offered to star, as both lead and co-producer, with his protege Yung Berg and love interests Teairra Marí and Princess Love rounding out the cast. In an interview, creator Mona Scott Young confirmed that the concept was being considered, along with possible spin-offs in Houston and New Orleans, saying “we’ve been looking in a few cities. Nikki's mother and Masika have a battle of words and when Mally Mal is called to the stage, Nikki and Masika begin to fight loudly and look to be on the verge of a physical altercation.Rumors of a Los Angeles-based spin-off of Love & Hip Hop began circulating in September 2013. And at one point, the two stood up and security had to get in between them.Īccording to Princess, she and Ray J were only broken up for two weeks and nothing really happened between him and Teairra. Princess and Teairra went back and forth, hurling insults at one another. Princess joined them on stage to reveal that she and Ray J are back together. Ray J did apologize to Teairra for embarrassing her and he did admit that it was hard to watch himself, as he did not like the person he was. After they reunited at the end of the last episode, it was revealed early on that they were no longer together. The reunion begins with scenes from the season featuring Ray J and Teairra.
